What happened to the 230?

I have a farmall 230 that has been running good. I've used it quite a bit the past couple of weeks, and yesterday something went wrong. I went to raise the fasthitch, and it makes a bad grinding noise up in the motor area. Really bad when the lever is engaged in either the up or down position, and noticeable when the fasthitch lever is in the middle position. Has never made a sound until I went to raise it the last time. Any thoughts on what maybe the problem? Thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like you might possibly be chewiing up a hydraulic pump. Did you notice any change in the operation of your fasthitch?

It seemed to have a fast, but slight vibration or jerky movement as it moved. What would cause the Hydraulic pump to be going bad?
