I had a Roam 7ft. offset plow for years it was all a 400D or 460D needed. My uncle used once with his M pulled but wouldn't lift it.

Kind of curious what you guys are calling an offset harrow. I had what Bush Hog called a tandem offset disk, 10 foot with 26" blades. If I recall it had 14 blades on each gang. It would create all the load a 100 hp tractor wanted. I hitched 560 to it one day and I didn't go anywhere. Not enough traction to even touch it.

I do realize there were lighter versions of the same type of disk. But I think even the lightest I've seen, 10' would stump an M.

Hugh, that would be my opinion also. I would think a 10 foot "single offset" (two gangs) would be more than enough for an M. I have pulled one of these with a JD 3020 (about 70 hp) and it doesn't exactly walk away with it. This is a heavy duty disk that will go deep. The one you mentioned is called a double offset (four gangs) in this part or the country. It would be the same as pulling two single offsets hooked together, if that were possible. 100 hp minimum.

CNKS: My description of my disk was not very good. From yours I can tell we are talking about the same disk. Single offset, pulls a bit off to one side, with front and rear gangs. The one I had would go 8 to 10 inches deep in corn stover in fall after combining. I usually pulled it with 100 hp or more. The time I hitched 560 to it, I didn't go anywhere.

We had I think it was a International B-20 offset,10 or 12 ft wide.Ole M pulled it like there was no tomorrow.Probably could have gone a little bigger. The discx were only a year or two away from need replacing but it would sink to the spools and the M wouldnt even think twice about it.

If you mean an of-set disc harrow 10ft is plenty in plowed ground if you are going over 3-4in deep.
