Hi All

I am having a problem with my loboy 154. I try putting the tranny in reverse and noticed lots of grinding so I put into 1st then bach into reverse let off the clutch and nothing. I took a look at the clutch and noticed than when engaged and in gear the clucth turns but it does not turn the drive shaft. Also the clutch seems kinda loose-is there supposed to be a little play? The tracor ran fine with no slipping prior to this. Can this be an adjustment issue? Thanks

After further review I noticed the actual clutch disk just spinning freely between the pressure plate. There seems to be lots of play betwee the clucth plate and pressure plate. Also the brake linersdon't make contact with the pressure plate when clutch pedal is depressed. Could I have possible just slammed this thing into reverse
do to worn brake liners and caused the clutch plate to incinerate? I really didn't use that much force-just seemed like any other shiftinto reverse.

Take the clutch pedal rod loose and remove the coil wire ,put it in gear and bump the starter and see if it tries to move. If it moves then theres a problem in the linkage. But to me it sounds like the clutch disk just plain died.

The pressure plate does not move when machine is running when pedal is engaged or disengaged. Also I can turn the pressure plate assembly by hand which also seems kinda loose? Seems strange as the clutch appears to be in good condition however when I turn by hand-which wouldn't be possible I don't think if the teeth were grabbing the drive shaft- I can here what sounds like pieces tumbling around in the assembly. Guess I will have bite the bullet and replace. It doesn't look like that bad of a job to replace-I have the manual and it appears that I don't have to wedge engine to get the shaft out so thats a plus!
