I have a question, Are the rods in the 460 gas, which has a shorter stroke, the same length as the 560 gas rod with a bigger stroke? If they are the same, where did they make up the difference to make the pistons come up to the deck? I wish I had a 460 221 to compare them to, but I don't lol!! Any help would be great!! Thanks! Chad

Chad the rods very well could be same part number between 460 & 560. The gas had 3-9/16 bore the desiel had 3-5/8 bore the stroke was the difference between 460 & 560. the rist pin was located defferently the 560 pin just below rings the 460 was farther away, so the 460 was I think 221cid gas and 236cid desiel 560 263 and 282 the 291cid and 301 bigger bore, more rpm's
