I have a 560 Farmall with Deep Tread Firestones installed about 1966. My uncle traded the tractor in 1967 for an 806. One neighbor's dad bought it, kept it about 5 years and then another neighbor bought it. I bought in 2000. Neither of them replaced the rear tires.

I would take Firestone over Titan even if they cost considerably more. We have eight pairs of Firestone rear tractor tires and have been very pleased with them, some of them have almost 4,000 hours on them and still have over half tread left. In the past Titan has had alot of problems with their sidewalls giving out, they say they have fixed the problem in recent years but I'd want proof of it. Last year I asked one of our tire dealers who doesn't officially sell either Firestone or Titan tires but can get both about Titan tires but I don't think the words he used to describe the Titan's would be allowed on this site. If he has a customer that wants a good tire he gets them a Firestone even though he is a Goodyear dealer.

Titans-aggressive tread; cut up fields worse; Seem to wear fast; Get very flat spot overnight-so bad you can't roll out the road in high gear. Fireatones-smooth on road; seem to run a little smaller in terms of rolling radius; overall super tire.

On a working tractor, firestone field and road tires are hard to beat. I do a lot of road travel to get to different fields. On most tires, you can see the wear when you come off the road, but the firestones seem to last forever. They pull very well too. The last set put on was about 5 years ago. That tractor is used a lot, and it is used hard. The tires still look good today.

We use only Titans on all the tractors we work on or own. From a lot of years farming I have learned to never trust Firestone, BF Goodrich or Goodyear on anything. Firestone sidewalls rot out before tread is wore out, BF Goodrich the tread area between lugs rots out, Goodyear has a problem with lugs ripping off. Have one tractor here that has had Titans on it for over 10 years and tires look almost new. Price only becomes a issue over the life of the tire. Tim

Well, the Firestones are a good tire at low speeds as Ford found out with the tread separation issue a few years back. I'm still running my Firestone tires subject to that recall because the tire guys were putting anything they could find on the trucks. My wife had her Firestones replaced with Avons and they wore out in less than two years. Now that don't have much to do with Tractor tires but I like Firestone Tractor tires too. I like Goodyear best but usually can't afford Goodyear. Firestone ain't cheap either. The Titans are often cheaper around these parts in Ny.

Jeff, we have both, usually run the Firestone Field and Roads if prices are equal...one pr of Titans we have has started to crack on the sidewall a little, only 3 yrs old...but we got them from Miller's so who knows how long they sat around, now we get them locally, so we haven't had that problem. Our dealer prefers the Firestones, but sells both. We pull quite a bit, so we listened when pullers said the Firestones dug a little better, but I haven't seen where they do...so, I really have no preference...hope this helps. Pete
