Bought an A farmall this spring with a 5' belly mower. Tractor ran like a champ all summer except for the govenor not working. I thought I would fix it this winter.

aaaaa aaaaa hhhhh hhhhh now the braggin starts

I got the manual out and did the adjustment like it said, ran like a sick goat. Took out the bottom adjustment {threaded bolt}. The bolt is hollowed out to accept a spring. Spring was broken. Old 04 struts over to the local hardware
store with the remains of the ole spring, bought a new compression spring for .60. Installed this expensive spring, went through the same adjustment procedure and holy moly, ran like
a new bride.

This makes up for a lot of my other blunders. Sorry all you guys had to put up with my braggin.

Not to be outdone!
I was pulling old shrubs out in front of my house a year ago and the tractor began to run real bad. The engine was surging. played with it for a while and figured out it was a broked govenor spring. Walked to the auto parts store. he didn't have a spring that would work. I hitched a ride out to my farm shed where I had left my truck and dug through the spare parts can. Found a spring that looked about right. Drove my truck back and put the spring in. Had to take it apart and cut the spring off some, put it back together and it ran like an old girl friend. One up!

Terry,

That ain't braggin', that is just being proud of yourself and what you just accomplished. There is nothing wrong with that.

I'm envious of you 'cause you know how to do something that I wouldn't have a clue how to tackle. Good job on your repair!

Hell Man!! Keep it up!

Allan
