Will a 560 WFE fit a Farmall 706?

I was curious if a 560 Wide front end was rugged enough for a Farmall 706 with a bucket loader. Is the 560 WFE identical to the 706 one? Thanks.

If its a genuine IH WFA it should be exactly the same parts & all. Only exception is saddle under pan if D310 german diesel.

RPM: I don't agree, my 560 and 656 both came from factory new with wide fronts and the center steering control arm was different. The center arm on 656 was longer.

I dont find any different part number in my current IH parts catalog for any of these tractors other than # 358970R1, all the ones I ever worked on or sold parts for used this number, no different for SMTA thru 1456.

MG: I know the 560 and 656 are the same with one minor difference. The center steering control arm on the 656 is longer, and this allows tractor to turn shorter. I think you will find the same with all 06 and 56 series tractors, that center steering control arm is longer than 560. This is why 560 always seems like a locomotive when driving one.

I could never understand why IH didn't do this sooner. I guess they wanted to be sure power steering would handle it. The longer steering arm will reduce the mechanical advantage. I know few guys who have cut the center steering arm and added 1" to length on C, SC, 200 and 230. Makes a big difference on manuverability, and with little effect on steering effort. The bigger tractors would probably be more noticeable on steering. Before I did this with a 560 front going to a 706, I would check the actual length, of another 06 or 56 series tractor.
