I'm looking at a International 666 and wanted to know what the value of these are. I have a number in mind ( $4,000 to $5,000 ) but wanted to check with some of you that knew for sure. It is a Diesel and has a wide front and 3-pt. Sheet metal is OK but has never been painted. It seems to start and run good but has been sitting for a few years. I was thinking of trading my 504 Diesel for it plus a little. What do you think? Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Kevin: 666 was a good tractor, just a 656 with a bit more power plus you get rid of the glow plugs.

On the price issue, depends on where you are. If it were around here your too low, but on same sign Allen is too high. About 5,000. to 7,500. around here.

I was about to buy one two years ago, diesel, wide front, good rubber and paint, for $5500.00 but my boss (wife) thru a fit because of the number 666. I have heard of others not buying them on acount of the number. Wander why IH used that number knowing what the 666 stood for and not changing it to something else?

Larry: I'm not the least bit superstitious. I had a 656 and a 1066, but never shyed away from 666 because of number. I must admit the only guy I am personally acquainted with who owned a 666 had more than his share of bad luck.

Kevin,

I haven't seen your tractor of course, nor do I know it's condition (maybe she is a basket case), but I think (in the words of one of our other posters here) that you are looking for an early Christmans present.

I would think more in the 6K to 8K area. A good, clean, field ready 656 will easily pull $6,000 to $6,900 in our neck of the woods. Sometimes, more.

Just my opinion, tho

Allan
