Broke my H in using CaseIH 30 weight low ash oil. Now I run Mobil Delvac 5w-40.

Just so everyone knows, I found out from a reputable informant from WalMart that their Tech 2000 brand oil is manufactured for WalMart by Havoline. It's the same thing, but half price. I use it all the time now, since I found this out. Used to use Rotella in everything, but after reading charts on cold oil flow, I dropped to a lower viscosity oil. Good luck with the Tech 2000 stuff so far!

any quality oil is fine, I think we use 10-40 pennzoil in our gas tractors, testing semi-synthetic in the car (going to sell it soon anyhow), but thats just us. I'd avoid the walmart/kmart/KFC/taco bell generic brands

There will be a dozen different opinions on this..... myself, I am using straight 30W Detergent since I cleaned all the gunk out of the engine during rebuild.
My C is not a work tractor so I don't have to worry about summer/winter temps etc.
