Another oil pressure question

Hi All,
I have a 300U and lately the oil pressure has been a concern. When first started, the pressure is great. After 15 - 20 minutes it slowly drops to the other extreme. Today, I drove it home from the woodlot - 15 miles. One thing I noticed was that when going down hill the pressure increases and decreases going uphill - engine speed stays basically the same. Plenty of new oil, etc. Is this a spring problem or is there more to it. Thanks for any input.

Kit, 2 or 3 things can cause low oil pressure, but the only thing for up and down hill would be the float on the pump. Which would meen pull the pan so then you just as well pull the pump and check it out. The drive shaft just above the gear gets bad then there is the relief valve in side the pump some times the end plate on the bottom of the pump. If pump is good you should not be able to hold the pressure at top of pump turning it one had and holding opening shut with other in solvent.
