Just pulled in five more this past weekend. I only wanted one but it was an all or nothing deal. In the bunch is a 460 factory LP. I need to sell it but would like to get it running first. I dont want to mess with LP so I was wondering if you can just rebuild the Ensign Carb and run it on gas. Dont know much about the 460. Thanks all.

My Dad and brother have a '48 Minnie-Mo "U" that was an LP Gas engine. It also ran the Ensign regulator and carb, but the Ensign company went out of business in the 60's I believe. People warned us about the different heads between the two (gas and LPG) but with our 87 octane fuels we haven't had a problem. We just bought a gas engine carb and mounted it up. It runs awesome! I do have to agree though that it might decrease the value of such a fine red machine.

EVERHART 2 WAY & LPG SUPPLY
RT#1 BOX 169
LONE WOLF, OK. 73655-9762
(580)846-5633 This is the only place that I have heard of having Ensign parts. Call them first. If you send a check you can save C.O.D. charges.
Are you going to do a rebuild on a regulator? I'm still a little reluctant to try it.

I would recommend leaving the LP system intact. It will be worth more to a collector that way. There isn't much to go wrong with the LP system if it is kept clean. It is a better fuel for the motor in the long run.

LP carb can not be converted to gasoline entirley different set up. Some engines are dual fuel LP/gasoline but they essentialy have 2 seperate carbs.
