On my 45 H. I just notied that oil has been leaking out of the #4 spark plug hole. I cheaked the plug to see if was tight it was. Then Ran compresstion test 115psi + or- 1 or 2psi.Compression was good. Is valve not seating right??? What would cause this????

Sounds like you have a ring problem on the piston. The same thing happened to me on an F-20. I had to replace the rings, and that cured the problem. You are right timing will not have anything to do with it. You are probably getting some white smoke (Oil Burning). Hope this helps.

I would be checking for oil leaking down from the valve cover or some other external source. If the spark plug isn't fouling then it is burning everything in the combustion chamber. If it is leaking out around the spark plug then you probably aren't going to see that high of compression. How does #4 compare to the others? Is the plug fouling? Is is smoking abnormally? Just a couple of thoughts.

Digger, Check your timing first! If that checks out pull the valve cover and check your gap.

What would timing and gap have to do with it leaking oil?
