What is the original color for a 1938 F 14 farmall? Paint code if possible.

IH #50. PPG concept number is 71310. Very expensive paint, very superior results.

71310 is IH 2150. IH 50 is 70019. If you want cheaper paint use Omni acrylic urethane, around $90 per gallon plus $37 for the hardener. (bought some yesterday) Concept is roughly double that, probably triple if you use base coat, clear coat, but it is a superior paint.

Excellent results if you use the 2 stage, but not all that expensive if comparing with some of the other systems such as Dupont.

PPG has 2 systems in one shot paint around here, namely OMni, which is the cheap stuff, is called urethane, but smells like enamal, and takes days to dry; and Concept, which is a real urethane, dries in one day, and stays shiny. Both use hardener, neither need clearcoat. The omni is about 1/3 the price of concept, so if painting to sell, use omni, if painting to keep forever, use concept. Just my opinion.

Omni AU cures in about a day for all practical purposes. Not saying you can pour gasoline on it the next day, but I wouldn't do that to any paint.

I use the OMNI. I like the 2 stage better (clear coat) because it is easier to control. Single stage, I found is easier to put on, but sags easily. The new clear coat is a lot easier to control sagging than the older stuff. Either way, the OMNI in a great paint to use

I have not had any trouble with Omni AU single stage sagging. In fact I have to deliberately screw up (gun too close, or too slow, or not waiting for it to flash) to get runs or sags. I use a Sharpe Platinum gun, refurbished for $175, about $350 new. Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but a darn good gun. Painting again this week, probably make a liar out of myself.
