i got on the old 2444 tonight...pushed in the clutch and it felt like normal, no noises, not oddities, but the clutch isnt dissengaging. or thats what i am guessing... thats the symptoms. no problems before...just suddenly. could it be somethin in the tranny? or what could my problem be? we tried hittin the brakes and stuff, but no go. any ideas would greatly be appreciated.

Check your clutch freeplay against the measurement given in your owners manual and adjust. If your lucky that's all it is. If not the problem is most likely the clutch. A peice of the face could have broken off and jammed so that the clutch won't dissengage or some thing of a simmilar nature. Possibly but not likely your pilot bearing may have seized and won't allow the input shaft to stop. If adjusting the freeplay doesn't fix it then you will most likely have to split the tractor, but first take a good look through the inspection plate in the bottom of the bell housing.
