I just traded for a Farmall Cub, and the governor has slack in it. The engine will idle up slightly, and there is about 3/4 inch slack with engine off in the cross rod from the left side to the governor. I figure it is just worn. Is there any site where I can view a diagram of the cub governor and how it works PRIOR to my attempting to repair it? Thanks,

There is a key on te end of that shaft. Pull the rod out, clean it and put a little bit of Loc-tite on there. Let it set up over night. You do not want any slop in the rod at all.

Okay, I didn't want to do like I did on an "A" John Deere one time. I took the 5 bolt end plate off the left side of the engine, and the govenor balls went everywhere. Thanks for the help.
