I posted these over on the combines board but thought you all would like to see them. This is my 1948 Super A pulling 1944 IH 52R combine sacker model with Continental power unit back in June. The wheat yielded well esp. with this wet spring and combine ran fine. The tractor is restored mechanically and will get cosmetic work this fall.

I just bought an IH stationary engine with the Continental engine. It was said to have been on a combine at one time.

If you have pictures, it would be helpful. I know only about Farmall tractors, not these engines.

Thanks

Neat photographs. It looks like you had a good "Farmall Day"! The crop looks good too.

My Dad bought his first combine in 1954 a 7ft. MH Clipper we pulled it with an H most of the time, but he had 20 acres of lespedeza that went to seed so each afternoon when he went after the cows he had the combine hooked on the Super A and he would make two rounds and he paid for the combine.

Here is the second picture. The Super A is just the right size to handle the combine if it isn't wet. Then the combine very easily becomes a boat anchor.

It was repainted at least once, in the '60s. It was never abused, but never 'baby-ed' either.
