A buddy called me last night, he was mowing with his '52 H and lost the steering. Seems the steering rod disconnected at the universal joint and when he turned it, worked the worm gear out and broke that retainer nut on the end of the steering box. Question, is that a right handed thread? (it just knocked the end off the keeper and the threads are still in the box) Can I put heat on those threads,to try to remove them? If we get them out, is a new one available? and finally if we get it all back together, how do you time the steering? Thanx Ron

Just another thought. If the nut got broken out of the casting, there is a good chance that the retainer which holds everything in place also is busted up. If the casting is broken there also, you may need to get the whole upper bolster. I have one, but shipping one from Idaho wouldn't be an option
