Punch below for a few pix taken the last several days while helping on the wheat harvest here (western NY).

Bob: I've changed my tune today, they may have been warming up last week, but they are at full throttle today. In fact I saw a good bit of the harvest from here to Fort Erie today, went one way and back another.

Enjoyed the pictures. Had to laugh when I saw the "baler" tractor. In my teens I rode the rack behind a JD 3020D; we thought that was a luxury, as many in the neighborhood were using JD A's and Farmall M's.

Great pictures Bob. What was the yield in that field?

Red/Hugh: Not sure what the wheat is yielding. (Spent most of my time wrenching on the balers and stackcruiser. Stackcruiser is great when gets working right but it always seems to take a few days to get the motor running good and all the hydraulics sequenced. This year the carburetor is giving us fits...) However based on how long it took a combine to fill each truck I'd guess it was running around 40 bpa. CRC: Right on the baler tractors! My baling experience as a kid was with M's. These power-shifted, A/C-equipped tractors (JD 7810 and 4455) are the height of luxury by comparison!

Great bunch of photos. Boy that stackliner sure looks nice. Although my wife likes that I am stacking mine by hand. Iv'e lost 15 pounds so far and the poppey arms are coming back.
Maybe next year I fain some back pain and bring home a bale wagon :-)

Bob: How is the wheat coming off? Fields around here look like good yields. There has been a bit of combining done, but I'm thinking it is just not quite ready as I have seen severeal places where a combine went 100 ft into field then backed out and went on down the road. The guys that are combining aren't pushing hard just yet.
