Hi I was wondering what a 300 utility is worth. It has the fast hitch converter to the three point. Needs a carb rebuild. Are these good tractors? Its my neighbors and he kinda wants to get rid of it so he dont have to do the carb. Whats a good price? Tahnks a lot.

First off, a 300 Utility is different from a Farmall 300 (which is a row crop tractor); the two have the same engine and a few other parts in common, but are basically different tractors. The 300U is more popular in many areas of the country, and brings higher prices than the Farmall model, but tractor prices vary widely in different parts of the country and you really need to check your local market or specify your location to get any very useful answer to your question.

Around here (Denver area), $3000 or more is reasonable for a field-ready 300U; a Farmall 300 in similar condition will probably bring $2000 at auction.

The 300U is a very good, tough tractor if you find one in good condition, maintain it properly, and use it for what it was designed to do. Rebuilding the carb should not be a big deal.

In today's economy the $2500-3000 RANGE IS ABOUT RIGHT.
I've got a near perfect 300 tricycle for sale currently and it has T/A and pulley, new paint, no rust, no dings, could use one tire if you were going to work it hard and a right rear wheel bearing. Just turned down $2500 since guy wouldn't bargin at all. No sense of humor--LOL I'd let it go for $2600 simply because I don't have a need for it. But I'll let it winter over in a barn before I'll sell it to some grump..LOL

Carb rebuild. Idiots like me can do that. The 300 Ute\ility is a pretty sought after machine. If I could find one for $2000-$2500 I would get it regardless of problems.

Only down side to the 300 Utility is it's front end if it has been used hard as a loader tractor. As far as I know all the parts to rebuild are available. my nickel
