I have a 4 row International steelwheel planter I'm close to dragging out of the weeds to fix up for tractor shows. How do I find the model number and other info to make it look as orginal as possible. It's all there and years ago, I bought another one from the neighbor for parts, so I'm set on that except maybe the seed boxes. I'll have to check. Thank you for your time. Jim

Jim: If you have acess to a copy of the book 150 Years of IH by CH Wendel he shows some very good pictures of a lot of old IH planters. If you cant find the book e mail some pictures or even a good description and may be I can match it up.

Hi Hugh. Hope yer doing well, what with the days getting so short and all LOL. Doin good here I guess. If you can tell me the model and years my planter was made, Id appricate it. It looks just like a horse planter, cept it has a trip mech, no seat, no lifting handle, and an adjustment crank that runs along the tongue. The wheels are slightly smaller than a horse planter, but thicker and heavier. I have a horse planter just like it, cept irt does have the seart and lifting lever. Can you tell me what and when they were made. Thanks, and take care. Bill

Bill: According to the info in 150 Years of IH the last 2 row horse planter was the number 102. It was the one that planted check rows. From what I can see the 112 tractor planter is the same planter. The one shown is a 4 row planter. It is basically made up of two 2 row planters.
