Smoking super c

Smoking out the oil fill cap.Is this a valve problem or a ring problem, or something else???Need suggestions on what to look at first.Only smokes when under a load.

It is probably normal. My motor is fresh and a little souped up and you should see it smoke a little with the 6 foot finish mower attached and mowing 4 foot tall wet grass at WOT. It isn't what I would call a lot but all engines will have a little blow by that increases with engine load. Have you ever seen the draft tube on a big detroit 6-71 powered truck right after it came off a mountain? You would think there was a fire under the hood. Unless it is really bad or it does it all the time then nothing is wrong. It is sopposed to vent there. Modern engines have a pcv valve to reburn that smoke but old tractors don't.

Smoke fron the breather under load sounds like blow-by to me. That usually means rings.

What color is the smoke? Black (gas) or blue (oil)?

you have what is called blow-by, it definately is time for at least a ring job.
