Working on a friend's A, and think it has a brake band problem. The wheel seems to have additional drag. Could the lining have broken loose and moved to bind the assembly? Got her up on jacks and wheels removed. Do I have to pull the final drives off to get to the bands? I spend most of my time on green and yellow toys, so I could really use some help with this.

Thanks Guys!

Yes, you have to pull off the final drives. The differential shaft is splined on the inside end and comes out with the final drive assembly. It's not a hard job, but the whole assembly is a little heavy and can be hard on the seals, especially on the right side, because the shaft is so long. I used a come-along to suspend the right side drive when reassembling.
Everybody I talked to recommended changing the seals while I had it apart, which I did. Bill
