Hi I have two questions. My first is about my steering. It is fine in all gears except 5th. When I get her rolling the front end wobbles. What is the easiest way to fix this? My second question is what is the best way to put hydraulics on my tractor? I have the control valve but need to know how to hook it up. What outlet is the return? Also when using the hydraulics do I need to leave the lift-all lever engaged all the time? Thanks everyone.

Matt

I assume that your tractor has the belly pump and that you just need to know the plumbing. This site sells a manual that details the operation of the liftall.
My H uses a front loader and three point with no problem from this pump.
The loader and 3 pt will hold a load with the pump shut off but you need it on to lift and it can be left on all the time.

I just bought bearing kits for the front wheels on my 350. 2 kits (one for each wheel) cost me $85.40. Each lit included the bearings, the seal that goes on the back side and the gasket that goes under the dust cap. I hope this helps. Adam

More than likely the wobble in the front end is in the bolster bushings. (been there, wobbled that)

I could wabbleeach tire about 1/4 of an inch. There wasn't much left to the bearings.

46H, your steering question has been answered. As to the hydraulics, the belly pump on an H had three outlets, all will lift( stage one hydraulics, the pump lifts the implement, the weight of the implement returns the oil to the pump as you release). The H had the three outlets, the first lifted the front cultivator, the second lifted one side of the cultivator and the third lifted the opposite and/ or rear. Most H's had a belly pump, only the most recent H's and super H's used the pump incorporated on the ignition drives..hope this answers your question....Mike in Exeter Ontario

"Hi speed" wobble is usually slop in the steering gear and/or wheel bearings, and/or bushings in the bolster. Most likely a combination of all three. Not technically difficult or particularly expensive to fix, but very time consuming.

Can't really speak to the belly pump hydraulics, as I've never worked on them, but I do know there is a pump that fits between the distributor drive and the distributor that provides live hydraulics. Not sure if it was aftermarket or factory on late (Super?) H's.
