Does anyone have any info on where to get the proper paint for this tractor. Note: the body & castings are presently painted dark gray & the wheels are dark red.

While my 36 was red when I got it, it gradually became apparent (after I began to paint it red again) that it had been originally gray. I mistake that has always bothered me. The serial number is 72160 if that helps you at all. If your tractor is in fact gray, I just want to point out that your wheels in fact would still properly be red if you want to be accurate.

You might check the serial # to be sure of the year. All of the 36 model F-12's that I have seen are red.

I am restoring a 36 F-12 right now. Was hoping to have it for the local show this weekend, but didn't happen.

Good luck.

paint was changed in november of 36 so you tractor was likly gray. I mix a gallon of rustoleum gloss black with about 2\3 cup of white.
