Does someone know what the average correct oil pressure should be for an M that has had the motor done to 4" specs and has only 30 hours on the rebuild? My gauge is pegged at 70 at idle and doesn't fully come back to zero when shut down and cooled off.

It depends if you are using an IH (Rochester) or a new repro gauge. If you have an IH gauge, the needle should point near the middle of the white area in the gauge. If you are using a repro, the needle should point in a green area or point around 55-60.

You need a calibrated gauge to be sure what the pressure is. Hal

Pressure should drop as rpm is decreased. Should be 60-70 at full throttle. You might try a new gauge -- be sure to get the one with the same number as is listed in the parts book as they have different pressure ranges.
