Does anyone know of a website that would list available Farmall M implements (i.e. blades, mowers, plows, etc.)

I'm thinking of buying a '46 Farmall M that is in what I feel is great shape. Have heard it run, and the seller showed me the hydraulics and PTO work. Seller is offering a mower (rear attached to 3pt hitch), and a rear mount grader blade. I am wondering if there are any front mount blade assemblies available, but am having trouble finding any information on implements.

IH made the HM-46 two-row corn lister (1941 to 1953, HM-46-A two-row small seed lister (1941 to 1944), Hm-47 two -row cotton and corn lister (1941 to 1950),HM-246 two-row corn lister(1954) and the HM-246-A two-row corn lister(1954 to 1955).

To mount this equipment you had to remove the drawbar and mount the lister on the same brackets. Used the same hydraulic cylinders used on the two row cultivator to raise the lister. Dave

A Farmall M pulling 4-16 is not going to work. My M snorts with a 3-14 on back. It takes my Oliver 1955 to pull 4-16 plow.

Implements are not DEDICATED to the Farmall M.
There are many implements that can be pulled by a Farmall M, either from the drawbar (the more traditional way) or from an add-on 3 point hitch (the so-called modern way) and are made by most every implement manufacturer. It really would be impossible to create a website for Farmall M implements because everything listed would be entirely useful with many other tractors thereby making it an exercise if futility.

Thanks 55 50, that's about the same conclusion I've come to after spending a good portion of the day looking around on the internet. Appears that a good deal of implements can be used with the right ingenuity.

4/16's will make that old girl snort!!!
with the 3 point your m should handle quite a few implements, watch for farm and consignments auctions, you can get a lot of the implements pretty cheap. check with some of the farmers in your area, the word will get out you are looking for stuff, and you will get calls. we have a scrap guy in our area, i have him keep an eye out for treasures when he picks up junk, get a lot of neat stuff from him for scrap price.

Sure she will... I have a #60 4-16 that I tug along with my M from time to time, 2nd gear, 3rd in light sandy soil... I also have 4 weights per axle hanging out there... I am not short of power just traction due to lack of weight w/ non loaded 15.5 x 38's.

My #70 3-16 won't pull the ole girl down in 2nd unless i hit something unmovable, then she'll just spin out... 3rd gear will work her a bit in heavy clay where traction isn't a whole lot of an issue...

A stock M probably won't handle the #70 with any sort of tact... but most M's are actually super M to super M+ in power these days... My 1950 M, C248 block w/ 4" firecraters and rocket governor turning C281 RPM's will pull pretty well in the field.

i think the m was rated for 3-14 bottoms. only way it'd pull 4/16s is if ya didnt drop em in the ground. i plowed up my neighbors 1 acre lot around his barn that he had horses on to re seed it, uses a 2-12 little genius, thats about all my m wanted, ground was like concrete!! my w-9 pulls a 3/18 oliver, and thats enough for that old girl.

I to have heard crazy stories, but I can tell them all that the M will not even pull three in some ground. If I plow early I can pull my 3x14 Little Genius in most any ground, but the later it gets the tougher the ground gets and she will sit and spin. I could weight the tractor enough to pull them in 1st gear. I do my M plowing early in the season for this reason.

I can confirm that report. I tried plowing some alfalfa ground with my M and an IHC 3-14 plow. In first gear, full power, I was powering out at about the same time my wheels started slipping, that was with the plow set as shallow as it would go, about 6 inches. I even had difficulty plowing some farm ground of my dad's, had to go in second most of the time. I need to get me a 2-16, then I could fly!

There were blades for the H-M One mounts directly on the no 30 and 31 power loaders. Then there was a no 7 angle dozer for them too. They both are front mount. I don't know of a web site, but as Dave BN said there are lots of implements for these scattered around the country. They use to be really cheap and lots of them have gone to scrap.

Don't know of any web sites for implements. I have seen a picture of a factory blade for the H and M but have never seen one in person, don't know if they were ever really produced. it is easy enough to make a blade if thats what you want. Implements for M's are fairly easy to find as they are a very common tractor. Dave.
