IH B414 gas, #2 and #3 cylinders dead- have gas, have spark, have good compression. Engine is only running on #1 and #4 cylinder, pull plug wires from the middle two cyl. and engine doesn't change a bit. Has new points; wires and plugs where changed a year ago, all cyls. at 120 lbs. compression, plenty of fuel from pump. tractor was running fine and then started cutting out, any ideas? Thanks!

Check your intake gasket on the manifold. It may be sucking air on those two.

Have you checked the plugs to see if they are fouled. The 2 and 3 are typicaly the two that foul first. Maybe she is burning a little rich. I wouldn't rule out the prankster either. I have old buddies that like to monkey around with wires sometimes.

As Bob says and you might have the fireing order wrong. You also could have a bad distubutor cap and its cracked and shorting out there. Or you could also have bad plugs. Take the plugs from #1 and #4 and put them in to 2 and 3 and see what happens
