Does anyone know of a good procedure to use on belt pulleys to make them look new again? I have an "M" and an "H" that have been restored except for the belt pulley material. They are in good shape but the appearance is lacking. I've thought of using shoe polish, is there another idea out there? Thanks in advance.

I had an H I restored w/a paper pulley. I used 80 grit sadpaper while pulley was spinning to get it smooth and then took a rag w/linseed oil and held it on while it was spinning. This gave the paper a deep rich look but not glossy. May be someone else has another idea but it worked for me

There is a company called Paper Pulleys in Columbia,TN that restores pulleys. They advertise in Red Power and some other magazines.
