Gentlemen, I've started a total nut and bolt teardown and rebuild of a '58 Farmall Cub #203880 J. It is in excellent original shape but puffed a little smoke and the hydraulic cylinder leaked, the brakes didn't work and the PTO shaft is bent with a welded on pulley. Besides I was needing a summer project. Thought I'd warn youall to expect some questions along the way. It is very straight with almost ZERO rust so it should be a dandy when finished. Tom

Tom,

As you keep removing parts, you will come to a certain point where the tractor disappears. If you keep careful notes, you will be able to tell us when that is. I never paid that close attention and just removed stuff until I just had a torque tube hanging on my hoist. When did the tractor leave??..dunno.

Good luck on your new project.

don't forget to take pictures, I always forget then regret it.

Also, cheapy ziploc bags with bolts and nuts and using a permanent marker to label everything makes reassembly a snap.

Just some thoughts

good luck on your project!

Thanks P, I've do take photos and I learned about the Ziplocks when I redid my Deere; they work great for locating the right parts for reassembly months from now.
