Hello all:

I had a question about an old parts source. It used to be named Surplus Tractor Parts Corporation, then was named All Parts International out of Fargo North Dakota. Are these guys still in business? They used to carry everything from undercarriage parts to engine rebuild kits. I"m looking for a current catalog from them. Any sources of info about these people would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Johnboy

Cat bought them out many years ago, changed the name to API, and then eventually closed the store here (Fargo) and moved everything to Illinois. This was probably 4 years ago. The main building is still sitting empty, never has had any business back in it. The shop and most of the outbuildings are rented or sold, but not the main one. They built a strip mall where the salvage yard used to be. Last I checked, when you go to the site, it just redirects you to a Cat dealer.

I guess I need to get out more often LOL. It has probably been 4 or 5 years since I talked to the people at API, and the only catalog I have from Surplus is from 1981. Thanks for the info, Lavoy, I guess my API catalog (2000 edition, now that I have looked at it), is probably not any good anymore. Real shame, they were nice people to deal with, I thought.

Have a good one,

Towards the end, they had little inventory for old tractors, and were muchmore concerned with selling toys. They knocked out a wall, and had a whole area full of toys, but only had about 4 shelves behind the parts counter for parts, and you and I could have carried everything on those shelves in 2 boxes. You're right, it is a shame. I bet to this day there is still someone on occasion who drives into town and pulls up to the building and didn't know they were closed.

They were still around a couple years ago, good people to deal with. I didn't know API had been Surplus Tractor Parts, they had everything and more (I always thought). Anyway, here it is:
ph.#: (800)859-2045
fax#:(800)279-0587

Good luck!
