I am scrapping a couple AC model M's. I am saving some of the parts for my other M's. Is there a way to get oil saturated break bands, and stearing clutch plates clean after being soaked with oil? Or should I just toss them? Stan

I,get oil dry or cheap kitty litter bury them in it then leave in it for a while . I, do all the time all with brake shoes, when seals leak and wheel cylinders leak draws oil and brake fluid out.

Try soaking them in mineral spirits.Have been useing that method for a long time.Easy to get and doesn't seem to leave a residue.

I wash and soak them good, with parts cleaner solvent, then hang them on a fence post for a year or two, the elements dry them good and do not hurt them at all. DON

I have heated with a torch to burn oil out. THis is kinda hard on the facing material. it tends to make it brittle.
