Red Seal?

Hey was out the other day and saw off a driveway an old red crawler. Radiator shroud or side had a raised Red Seal on it like the old Holts did. (I think) It had some sort of army sticker on the side of seat. Was rather compact but not a light machine. Hope to get another look at it after Chrismas. Anyone have any information on these? Google didn't come up with anything except a link to YTmag, but I didn't see the archived message. May not be for sale, but I am curious about it. Thanks Joel

One other point - check the engine - - there should be a riveted tag as I recall on side of block. Mine had year and designation - such as F-244 (244 ci) which might help place pedigree - also any info off the military tag - govt contract number date manufacturer - would be of help.

Would be very interested in any pictures which show hood configuration from radiator to gas tank. I have a Massey Harris I244 (Heavy Duty military config of 44-6) that has a Red Seal grille - kind of square compared to regular MH - but hood is missing - all other pictures I have found of I244s have regular MH grille - and yes to the other posts - there were various config Continental Red Seal power units with RED SEAL down side of radiator / grille piece in red but not aware of any dozers. Send me an e-mail off post and I will try to get you some pictures.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember a Red Seal power unit made by Continental, the unit came with the radiator which had Red Seal on each side and Continental across the front, the were popular units and fitted to loads of different machines.
