Just purchased a 1976 Scatback 430 wheel loader. I heard these are pretty good machines. Does anyone know anything about these? This machine has one problem that is puzzleing me. The rool back bucket control lever works backwards. After investigation I found someone had switched the hose after a new hose was installed. At least that is what I thought. I switched the hoses and now the bucket will not hold any weight without rolling foward. It appers the Cylinder has been rebuilt. It works well if the hoses are hooked backwards. I am puzzeled.

I have had a scatback 430 for about 15 years and love it. I don't know the nature of your problem sugget that somebody rebuilt the valve and did not reassemble the roll back portion correctly. I am looking for a new valve block as mine leaks badly.

Have you tried companies that specialize in making gears. I would try that. Good Luck

I have a big problem with my Scatback 430.
I have been looking for the main gear sprocket(there are three, this is the biggest one, just off the hydrolic pump) for almost 2 months now. I even contacted the main office in Australia. It seems nobody is able to help me, because there is no serial number left onn the engine.
Would you happen to know where I could get one?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Daniel, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Hi

I have a 430 with the same problem. The curl and dump control seems to only work backwards. Do you know why?

Thanks

JW

We have had ours for over 25 years. So I have had some problems and learned a few things over the years as well. All we ever had was a parts break down book what other books did you find for it?
