Got a Case 2594 with the 24 speed transmission and just lately we've started having problems shifting it into gear. The funny thing is that some days it works perfect and other days you go to put it in gear and it just won't go. Chatted with the local CaseIH shop mechanic and he said 90% of the time it's the relay directly below the power shift lever console. Put a new one of those on and of course it's still acting the same way. Talked to the mechanic again and he thought it was definitely a electrical problem somewhere and didn't think it was anything internal. Didn't know for sure if anyone else has experienced a similar problem with a 24 speed transmission?

Thanks guys for the advice. I'll try a couple things and if I'm still stuck you'll probably see me back getting some more help. I'm determined to get this fixed.

Brent; Had shifting problems on my 3394 with 24
speed. Ended up being the switch after we had already put on the relay. The switch is not cheap,
almost $500.00 on 24 speed, the 12 speed is not as expensive. The switch was cracked, new one works fine. Hope this helps. Don

We farm near Hutchinson, Kansas. Is that Diagnostic Tool fairly easy to use? I'm wondering if the local CaseIH would have that. Sounds like a good way to help eliminate doing a lot of testing. Thanks for the help.

BRENT - I sure do appreciate the help. I wanted to run something bye you. I at least can tell when the tractor is going to shift fine and when it isn't. You know how when you push in the clutch you hear the little surge? Well when that happens everything works fine goes right into gear and everything works like a new one. Then I can go out the next morning and start the tractor up,push down the clutch and you don't hear or feel that little surge and it won't shift into gear just grinds which would make sense. Would that have anything to do with a bad wire on the Control Valve or Relay board or is this something else? It just blows my mind that sometimes it works perfect and other times not.

Brent From What You Decribe I Would Remove Panel Around Instrument & Steering Panel. Look At Clutch Pedal Swap Switches, If Metal Trip Lever Is Loose On Either Switch That Switch Could Be Bad. With Key On, Engine NOT RUNNING, Push Clutch Pedal Down & Listen For Click, Do That Several Times. If It Don't Click, Try Adjusting Bolts That Trip That Suitch.
