If I know my history, power steering was never offered on the WD from the factory, only on the WD45 onward.

Was there any company making an aftermarket powersteering for the WD when it was being originally sold ('48-'53)?

If so, who and where do I find one?

Thanks!

This link will take you to a Char Lynn torque generator now on Ebay. It is one of four now up for bid. Two of the units are off tractors and have pumps and other stuff with them. I agree with Mark that the Char Lynn unit is more straight forward and compact than the OEM AC system. I have some pictures on this site somewhere showing how I installed a Char Lynn system on my WD45. It is an easy do, but you need to know some key things to make the project go smoothly.

Char Lynn was an aftermarket mfg for power steering. They can still be found. I have a 45 with Char Lynn and two with the Original Allis power steering.. I think the Char Lynn is a nicer unit..
