sorry i havent got to call you . i have been really buisy with the tractor and working midnights. but if you can use the cheverolet piston . the compression ratio well be so high you have to buy 110 octane to run in it . right now i will have to study on rod length to use with standered stroke maybe some of the others have allready work that issue out.

I don't know if WD pistons can be used in either the 45 or a D-17. My calculations are based on using 4 1/8 pistons designed for the tractor.

lmorgan, if your 226 is a WD-45, the original ration is 6.45:1. Your new compression ration will be 6.795947:1 (approximately. If your engine is a D-17, the original compression ratio is 7.5:1. Your new compression ration will be 7.912598:1. Since the compression ratio quoted by Allis Chalmers is probably not exact, my numbers have too many numbers behind the decimal. I'd say for the WD-45, it will be 6.8:1 and for the D-17, the ratio would be 7.9:1.

The displacement is 240.5 cu in.
