Need some help guys,
I'm rebuilding a WD engine and putting a WD 45 crank in it. Their is a slight ridge on the cylinders and I dont think my auto reamer will takle a ridge that tall. It looks like 3/4 inch tall. Is there a special ridge reamer for Wd engines or a secret?

Thank you.

A noticable ridge in your sleeves is idicative of wear. Since you are rebuilding your engine and already have it apart, now would be the time to install new sleeves. You should be able to use a course hone to remove enough of the ridge to remove the pistons without breaking the ring lands if they cannot be removed from the bottom.

Went to the shop to measure up the cutter on my ridge reamer. Can not locate it. I was thinking the cutter was about 2 inches long.

Any way. I would take part of the ridge off with the reamer on hand then use a course stone in the hone to take off the remainder.

My thought.
