Allis Chalmers B with tricycle front end

My "B" model "tractor no" is stamped into the case "forward" of the gear shift lever with " C 204 " as the serial no. - this does not match any of the "B" numbers in the listing by years / does the tricycle front end have a different letter added to the "B" and if so where can I locate this "C 204 " number for a particular model / is this perhaps actually a " C " model ?

Hi Ray,

Whatever made you think you had a B? The B was never produced with a narrow front (at least from the factory). The C in the serial number indicates that the transmission housing was originally provided on a C. That together with the narrow front would certainly suggest that you had a C and not a B. If it ever started out life as a B, it sure isn't one now :o).

narrow front end and "C" on the transmission are certainly signs of a model C, not a B. look at the rear wheel and see if it bolts to the axle hub with 5 bolt pattern like a truck. If so, it is completely a C, not modified B.
