I have a WD and another parts Wd. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to rotate the rear axles to lower it so it will be more of a utility tractor. I have seen this done on farmalls and it looks like it would be a similar change. Thanks you all for your great advice.

I rotated a WD back one hole for pulling. All you have to do is drill another hole in the flange for the brake pin. If you look you will see what I'm talking about. The bottom brake pin goes through a hole in the flange where the axle and the rearend connect.

I've also seen the axle housings on a WD rotated rearward for the purpose of lengthening the wheelbase, this was on a pulling tractor. You could rotate them forward or rearward, both will lower the tractor.

Somethings to consider, what do you plan to do with the fender mounts? Fabricate your own adapters to move fender with wheel? Also, what do you plan to do with the front end? Is yours wide or narrow? Not sure how you could lower the front, other than to use smaller diameter wheel/tire combo.

Good Luck with it, let us know how it turns out.

P.S. The WF was considered a "standard" model, not quite the same as the "utility" model you stated that you're after.

factory model is called a WF. I have a IB which is a similar rotate conversion of a B. Also have a factory B which i am rotating to lower as you said. look to the left of this page under "tractor photos" and type in "WF" or "IB"

The WF is not converted by rotating the housings. It uses an entirely different rear end housing which is narrower as well.
