was ther a 12 volt gererator made for Allis model C's? I read the tag on the generator and it says that it is a 12volt generator. Does that mean i can wire the tractor to run on a 12 volt batery too?
Thanks

there are people that have a better memory than me on the little AC, but i dont remember a stock 12 volt system. Most cars in the 1960 era had a generator that was 12 volts. I would bet that is where it came from. There must be a voltage regulator, probably setting real close to the generator to make it work. If the generator is good and the reg is good you could make everything work, but the cost of fixing these is is as bad as the original 6 volt generator. Go to Auto Zone and get a 12 volt alternator with internal regulator for $35. and be done with it. If you already have a 12 volt battery you are half way there.
