This forum has been very helpful so far, thanks everyone for your help...
New problem, over the years the C's electical system has been changed and jerry-rigged and parts have been taken ou and so on. Is or was there a box that the thermostat went on? along with the switch for the lights? If anyone has any pictures of a C it and is able to e-mail me them i'd greatly appreciate it. The thermostat is at this point attached with a homemade bracket and i'd like to change it to it's orriginal equiptment thanks.

I must have me one of them "custom" jobs! That would explain why I have been so confused while looking at the wiring diagrams from the book and the one I drew off the tractor. For some reason, the magneto kill switch in my box is wired into my lighting circuit. I have a separate kill switch assembly welded to the steering support outside of the box.

Looks like there's one more thing to play with this winter.
