Just Ask | Vacations are great! Passing through small towns in Wyoming, rubbernecking at all the old trucks, cars and tractors semmingly 'planted' behind every old house. Decided to stop, ask for my wife's ancestral grounds. First gas station, woman doesn't recall the name, but called the areas premier historian and overall town personality. 80 years old and more life to her than all the cowboys put together at the local rodeo! Knows all of my wife's family, and the ranch is still standing (Right across the street from her house!) I had to ask her, I couldn'g wait, didn't want to interupt the conversation and history lesson. All I wanted to know was, what kind of old truck was behind her house. 'It's a 1927 International, and there's on old Oliver tractor out behind the shed' 'I was goin to have a junker come over and haul them away to the junk yard, if you want them, they're yours' 'Please take them away' - - - - - - - - - - - (Faint!) All you have to do is just ask!In another year, she will be riding with me riding shotgun to the towns local festival. Everyone knows the truck, and are all delighted that I will bring a piece of their history back to life - hopefully once every year for the rest of my life! KEEP 'EM RUNNING, AND BRING A SMILE BACK TO THOSE WHO LIVED IT! Thanks Dudley & Chloe Nutt, AZ, entered 2000-08-03 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
