The Balancing Act |
|
Back in the seventies, my Dad and I found ourselves invovled in going to old tractor shows in the state of Oregon. One we went to was in Salem, Ore., and one particular tractor, burned its way into my memory. Almost thirty years later, I still remember the name 'Yuba', carefully emblazoned on its beautiful green side of the hood. It sounded like all the power in the world was under there. The guy driving was trying to balance it across a log: but I don't remember just how it was to be accomplished. He did manage to do so for a few seconds but the machine nosed on forward and he drove off into the distant past, as I never saw one again, nor ever went to another show. I guess this is somthing reserved for fathers and sons. What a great day. What a wonderful machine. Yuba forever!!! Jon A. Sellers, Ut, entered 2001-12-18 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
