Raking Hay with Daddy | It was the summer of 1979 and me and Daddy were raking and rolling hay one day on our farm. Daddy was a International dealer in south central Kentucky and we also had a 85 acre farm. That afternoon I was on a 560 pulling a rake and Daddy was on a brand new 686 diesel pulling a brand new IH 241 roll baler, I remember passing him as I was raking and the proud look he gave me his son cause there I was right out there helping him get this hay up. He kindly would snicker at me cause I put a four foot straight pipe on the ole 560 so I could hear it holler, or at least me and my brother did, we always would kind of modify the equipment slightly like young boys do. That was the last summer that me and Daddy spent together he passed away the following February of a heart attack and I miss him dearly, put I sure have fond memories of him especially that hot afternoon on the farm in Kentucky raking and rolling hay together.
