When I bought my 970 25+ years ago it had no air. I called dozens of salvage yards looking to do what you want to do. They all told me that they had some parts but not enough to complete the system. One day while in Watertown SD I stopped at the Worthington Tractor Parts store and they told me the same thing. It was a slow day so I asked if we could go back and look. We found at least 3 complete systems and they put together a complete system for me. If I remember right it cost me about $600 at that time. I mounted the parts and lines myself With a new compressor, dryer, and all new seals I had it working for just under $1000. If I was to do it today I would look for the lines only used and get new evaporator, condenser, dryer, and the best compressor I could find. Todays 134 runs higher pressures that the OEM parts will not withstand. These parts have all been replaced on mine over the years. The new parts are all finer, and require blowing the dust out daily under dusty conditions. In todays economy you will likely spend $2500 to get it done. Hope this information helps with your decision. DK
