Got the 511 b on the 8ft disc mower ,it has sat way to long with previous -o, started runnin bad changed points and condenser ,have not changed plugs yet ,,after 15 hrs doing it again , changed condenser with a used one on hand ,, started rite up ,, then went a hundred ft ,, buk /snort DEAD ,, autopsy showed the wire to coil loose , titened all conections , the 500 run like a champ ,so I kept the condenser , thinkin my problem really was loose connections ,, cut about 25 hours..then, buk snort, /ka POWW , backfire ..worst on hot days, sometimes it goes away for about 5 minbutes so I switched back to previous condenser ,..and that 500 aint runnin no better ,..been searchin archives ..should the points be set with a dwell meter ?never done one ,, can anyone coach me ??gonna pull valve cover and chek clearances ,,and if no improvement gonna swap out the condenser
