I have a 310, and it was running fine, put in the shed, went back 1 month later and it did not run. We checked everything out(I will Make it brief, everything...) and could not find anything wrong. But when we checked out the rotor in the distributer, the rotor was not turning. The gear on the cam was not turning. There was never a sign of engine failure (Bank-Pop etc.) THE QUESTION IS ??? Does the camshaft have a woodruff key ? have they ever been known to have slipped? and has that ever happened before ?? If Not ! How could the cam shaft just sit and then break in half? (IF that is the case.) If anyone could answer PLEASE reply here or at resultsr1@live.com We would really appreciate it as we/I restored this 310 25 years age when I was 50 and that was too long ago to remember details like that, or have never seen this problem happen in the past. Thank you in advance. Ed
