Rich, Interesting reading. I was surprised to read the coments about the trannys being at their limit. We had very few issues with clutches and trannys. Once we learned the little quirks of the hyds, they were very dependable also. We sold around 10 1690s and the engines prooved to be a real pain. Cooling problems, that lousey connector between the two heads for coolant, and a lack of engine response while under load. As stated, all smoke and no go. We only sold a couple of 1594s and they were much better tractors. I was really looking forward to the Cummins powered DB, but that didn't happen as stated. Just a side note. There is a 1690/66L ldr., that we sold, listed in the Photo Adds now. Little Falls NY. Loren
