Hi all - I have attempted to square up the age on my tractor several times. I have heard various ways of finding it out, and have some conflicting info. Here's what I have so far: 1) A missing serial plate 2) A5617A stamped on the right side of the engine block 3) PTO level mounted just to the right of the gear shift. 4) Hand clutch on the right of the steering wheel.
From what I gathered, the best way to determine age was to subtract 4 from the first two numbers stamped on the engine block. This gives me 52, however according to most everyone I have talked to, the 52 had the hand clutch on the left, not on the right as mine has.
Can anyone lend me some info, as I need to sell the tractor and want to be more certain as to what the true age of my tractor is?
