No, gears are fine. Had no trouble til I put in new chains. The elevator kinda curves up, like an upside down rainbow and it has a guide that holds the chain down. The top of the links thats open catches on the begining of this guide. Tried to cut a bit off one guide thinking the chain would have more time to lay flat so it wouldn't catch, but that was no help. So I welded a piece back in that was a bit longer thinking it would hold the chain down sooner, but that also was no help. Kinda loosin my mind on this one.
